Isabel Inking with Southwestern Nov. 10; Madill All-State Runner Choosing Bulldogs for College

Madill all-state senior cross country runner Isabel Sanchez will be runnning with the Bulldogs at Southwestern in Weatherford next season. A signing ceremony has been set for 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 inside the Madill fine arts building lobby.

"Isabel will be a great addition to the Southwestern program," Madill cross country head coach Cale Eidson said. "She's a hard worker, very dedicated to what she does, and a very coachable athlete and person. We're lucky to still have one more season of track with her."

Sanchez had a season best  time of 12:17.15 at Waurika Oct. 23 to claim the regional championship in Class 4A. She followed that by reaching all-state status by finishing 10^th overall at the OSSAA Class 4A state meet in Edmond on Saturday.

“It feels good,” Sanchez said Saturday about achieving all-state status.

She consistently paced the Lady Wildcats throughout her senior campaign on the XC courses. She also plays in the Madill Band that earned a superior rating at McAlester in the regional contest.
