Forty-nine Madill band members earned spots on the South Central Oklahoma Band Director Association’s honor band Wednesday in Waurika.
Also, Julia Page earned an alternate spot for the small school all-state band.
“We are extremely proud of how our students have done at these auditions. The time they put in preparing for these auditions has a huge positive effect on our group as a whole,” Madill band director Kendal Hasty said. “This year we had more students make honor bands than ever before. The extra work they put on their instruments creates better musicians and better musicians create better bands. Their extra time and work makes us a better Madill Band. Again, we couldn't be prouder of what they are accomplishing at the individual level.”
