Stumblingbear Decides on College Course, Will Run Coarse Terrain of XC for William Woods University

Madill senior Joslyn Stumblingbear has chosen to run cross country for William Woods University of Missouri. Stumblingbear helped the Lady ‘Cats finish fifth in the Class 4A state meet in Edmond earlier this year. She came through in 12th place as an individual at the Class 4A regional meet in Waurika with a time of 13:32.12. The Madill girls were regional runners-up this season. Stumblingbear was a member of the 2019 Madill girls cross country team that was the Class 4A state runner-up in Shawnee.

A signing ceremony has been set for 11 a.m. on Dec. 15 inside the Madill fine arts building lobby on the Madill High School campus.

“Joslyn has been a consistent and integral part of the Madill cross country and track program for a long time now,” Madill cross country head coach Cale Eidson said Tuesday. “Her future school will be getting a team player that will work to help grow their program and continue to improve herself.”

Stumblingbear also plays basketball for the Lady Wildcats on the hardwood. Basketball begins the season Dec. 3.
