Madill senior Joslyn Stumblingbear has signed a letter of intent to run cross country and track for William Woods University of Missouri. She was joined by her family, coaches, friends and Madill administrators at a ceremony inside the Madill fine arts lobby Wednesday morning.
“Joslyn Stumblingbear signing with William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri to run cross country and track,” Madill athletics director Brett Weiberg said in his opening remarks in the signing ceremony Wednesday. “These are always really cool days and it’s been really, really neat this year that we’ve had more than one athlete be able to do this. But,this is just as special and a really cool day.”
“William Woods, it’s a great environment and the coaches are very welcoming,” Stumblingbear said of choosing her path.
Stumblingbear was part of the Madill team that was a regional runner-up this season in Class 4A and fifth in the state meet. Stumblingbear was also a key member of the Lady ‘Cats’ state runner-up team in 2019.
“Joslyn has been a consistent and integral part of the Madill cross country and track program for a long time now,” Madill cross country head coach Cale Eidson said. “Her future school will be getting a team player that will work to help grow their program and continue to improve herself.”
She came through in 12th place as an individual at the Class 4A regional meet in Waurika with a time of 13:32.12.
