Boys Win Championship Saturday, Girls Fall to Marietta in Game for Third; Watch on Demand

Saturday

The Madill boys basketball team beat Crooked Oak 37-21 on Saturday night to win the second annual Comet Holiday Classic.

The Wildcats’ Zeke Fuentes was named most valuable player for the boys side of the bracket. He was joined by Madill senior Nick Northcutt on the all-tourney team Saturday.

“It feels awesome, especially for it being my first MVP at a tournament,” Fuentes said. “Gotta give my team a lot of credit, they made plays all tournament and we played great as a whole.”

The Madill girls lost 47-41 to Marietta in the third-place game Saturday afternoon in Dickson to wrap the first semester of competition for the Lady ‘Cats. Senior Jayden Weiberg earned a spot on all-touney team.

Friday

Madill’s boys defeated the Oklahoma City Knights 56-33 in the semifinal. The Lady ‘Cats lost 51-45 to Dickson. The boys play Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the championship game. The girls play for third place at 4 p.m.

 

Thursday

 

The Madill basketball girls team defeated the Oklahoma City Knights 52-20 on Thursday morning. The Wildcats’ boys team beat Durant 24-14. Both local teams have advanced to the semifinals on Friday. The boys play at 5:30 p.m. and the girls play at 7 p.m. Click Here to Watch Basketball Tournament
